International FishMed Conference on Zebrafish Research (FishMed2016) was held at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw (IIMCB), an A+ grade and one of the best research institution in biological sciences countrywide. IIMCB organized this event to bring together scientists from the field, share recent advances in research on zebrafish and to present to an international audience the results of the FishMed project. The program included opening and plenary talks, short oral presentations, poster session, and extensive time for discussions.
FishMed stands for “Fishing for Medicines and their targets using Zebrafish models of human diseases”. The project was implemented by IIMCB in collaboration with European partners: Prof. Oliver Bandmann, Prof. Thomas Braun, Prof. Marcos Gonzalez-Gaitan, Prof. William Harris, Prof. Carl-Philip Heisenberg, Prof. Ewa Snaar-Jagalska, and Prof. Didier Stainier. The aim of the project was to establish IIMCB as the first in Poland research center where zebrafish is widely used as a model for studies on human diseases. To learn more about the project please refer to the webpage http://fishmed.iimcb.gov.pl/.
As FishMed2016 conference was financed by the European Commission and the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education no registration fee was requested. However, scientists wishing to participate in the event submited a short statement on their background and interest in zebrafish research (for details see REGISTRATION).
It has come to our attention that a scamming company "Exhibitors Housing Management" has approached participants of the FishMed2016 conference claiming to be the official housing partner of the event and offering hotel reservation and travel services. They are asking for credit card details in order to book travel and accommodation.
This company does not represent IIMCB.
We would like to reassure you that IIMCB does not disclose any personal data of conference participants to third parties. If you are contacted by such a company by phone or email using IIMCB’s name and offering hotel reservation services, we urge you all to proceed with extreme caution and ignore the interaction.
